Our Locations

Efficient, Cost Effective, Productive

Instead of focusing on creating the world’s largest vertical farm (hype). Our focus is on creating the world’s most efficient, cost effective and consequently productive local farms.  It seems like every few months the media announces yet another proposed “World’s Largest Vertical Farm”. To date exactly none of these projects have ever fulfilled their promises. Our technology produces the most food, at the lowest cost, of both capital and operational expense, while maintaining the highest taste and nutritional values. Our goal is to grow both farms and farmers nationwide.

Flash Farms - The Rise of the urban Artisan Farmer

Our technology was engineered to be scalable with the small artisan farmer in mind.  Flash-Farms require relatively smaller grow spaces between 1,500 – 10,000 square feet, and can be located on any floor of a building or in a store front. Typically they contain between 15 and 150 super-towers. The Flash Farm Model has been designed by us to be cost effectively located in urban communities and is intended to serve local markets and restaurants.  Since everybody eats, there is always a demand for fresh daily produce.  Every city in the world can easily support multiple Flash-Farms. These farms are engineered to enable, underutilized and nonproductive spaces to be become profitable and productive. They create great tasting wholesome food and year round jobs within blocks or miles of where the food is eaten. Flash Farms can earn between $250,000 and $5,000,000 a year (depending on crops and local market conditions). Properly provisioned, a Flash-Farm can be built in less than a week and yields its first crop with 60 days. In addition to growing great tasting wholesome food our goal is to also help grow great farmers.  Flash Farms are a great way for budding urban artisan farmers and communities to get started in vertical urban farming.

Philadelphia – New York - Washington D.C. – Baltimore – Boston – Beyond

We built Philadelphia’s first commercial Flash-Farm on South Water Street minutes from the south Philly Italian market made famous in the Rocky movies. The produce is amazing and we already have a strong commitment to take everything we produce. The South Water street farm has actually achieved two vertical farming firsts.  In addition to being the first commercial vertical farm in the history of the City of Brotherly Love, it is also the first commercial vertical farm built on the second floor of a commercial building.  We did this to illustrate how easily our technology can be adapted to lower cost urban buildings converting underutilized space into a profitable flash farm.

We haven't even scratched the surface of the Philadelphia produce market. The local market for produce in the greater Philadelphia area is huge and our fresh produce is in high demand. Technically, Philadelphia is the 5th largest city in the Unites States, however, if you include the greater Philadelphia area, Philadelphia is easily the second largest city in the United States, about twice the size of Los Angeles, Houston or Chicago. It is also within 1 day’s drive of 60% of the U.S. population.  Like most cities in the U.S. the food demands of the Philadelphia Region will support the efforts of multiple flash farms growing and selling fresh produce to the 6.5 plus million residents and thousands of restaurants and markets within 1 hours drive of our facility. We don’t need to ship food thousands or even hundreds of miles because our customers are less than 60 minutes away from the freshest produce they will likely ever taste. We are already planning a second Philadelphia farm focusing on different crops than our Water Street location.

Prospective investors and joint venture partners are welcome to stop by the Philadelphia Flash Farm by appointment. We are presently working on flash farm proposals in New York City, Washington D.C., and Baltimore, in addition to expanding Philadelphia. If you or your organization are interested in operating or investing in a Flash Farm, give us a call. We would love to talk to you to explore the possibilities.
